And now, the Australian actor Chris Hemsworth has announced that he is taking a break from the industry to focus on his health.

Hemsworth, who is best known for his role as Thor in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, revealed in an Instagram post that he has been diagnosed with Alzheimer's disease.

"I'm not sure what the future holds, but for now, I'm going to take a break from acting and focus on my health,"

Hemsworth wrote. "I want to thank all of my fans for their support during this difficult time."

The news of Hemsworth's diagnosis has come as a shock to many, as the actor had seemed to be in good health just a few years ago.

However, Alzheimer's is a progressive disease that can often take years to develop. Hemsworth is not the first celebrity to reveal a diagnosis of Alzheimer's.

In 2014, actor Glen Campbell announced that he had been diagnosed with the disease. And in 2016, country music legend Merle Haggard passed away from complications of the disease.
