The Indian Railways is one of the largest railway networks in the world, connecting millions of people to different cities and states. With the ever increasing demand for rail travel, the Indian Railways has come up with a new rule that will make it easier for passengers to travel without tickets.

Under this new rule, the Indian Railways allows passengers to travel without tickets on certain trains, provided they can produce valid proof of identity such as a PAN card, Aadhaar card, driving license, passport, or any other valid ID. This rule also applies to passengers travelling with reserved tickets, provided they can prove that they have already paid for the ticket.

The Railway Board has also introduced a special ticketless travel scheme, which allows a maximum of five passengers travelling together to travel without tickets on certain trains. This scheme is applicable for unreserved compartments only.

The new ticketless travel rule does not apply to passengers travelling in first class, AC compartments, or sleeper class. Passengers travelling in these compartments must have valid tickets to board the train.

In addition to the new ticketless travel rule, the Indian Railways has also introduced a number of other rules to make rail travel more convenient and efficient. For example, passengers are now allowed to board a train up to 30 minutes before its scheduled departure time, provided they have valid tickets.

The Indian Railways has also introduced a new ‘no-show’ policy, which allows passengers with valid tickets to travel without any penalty, provided they report their absence in advance.

With these new rules in place, the Indian Railways is aiming to make rail travel more convenient and efficient for its passengers. So, if you’re planning to travel by train, make sure you familiarize yourself with the latest Indian Railways Ticket Rules.
